Measles is not taking the name of havoc in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Today once again 11 new cases have been reported in the metropolis and one suspect has died. With the fresh cases, the number of infections in the metropolis has gone up to 303 so far this year, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said on Monday. The death toll from measles has risen to eight and the suspected deaths to three. The one-year-old girl, who died on Monday in the Andheri area in the west of the city, had not been vaccinated, the statement said.

Mumbai will vaccinate 1,34,833 children in the age group of nine months to five years, the civic body said in a statement.
