NZ VS SL : This New Zealand player has the right to take India to the WTC final, Sri Lanka's spirits are battered

The Ahmedabad Test between India and Australia ended in a draw on Monday. Despite this, the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma has confirmed a place in the World Test Championship final. The WTC 2023 final will be played between India and Australia from June 7 at The Oval in England.

The credit for India's entry into the WTC final goes to New Zealand, who beat Sri Lanka by two wickets on the last ball in a breathtaking encounter in Christchurch on Monday. The only condition for Sri Lanka to qualify for the WTC final was a 2–0 clean sweep of New Zealand.

Sri Lanka put up a good show too, but the Kiwis went two steps ahead of them and won the match off the last ball to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Former captain Kane Williamson is believed to be the hero of New Zealand's victory, who scored 121 not out. But the real credit for the Indian team reaching the WTC finals goes to New Zealand batsman Darryl Mitchell. Why so? Let's tell.

battled in both innings

Sri Lanka scored 355 runs in the first innings by batting first in Christchurch. In response, the New Zealand team had lost five wickets for 151 runs at one time and it seemed that they would kneel in front of the Asian team. But Daryl Mitchell kept one end and scored 102 runs in 193 balls with the help of 6 fours and two sixes, bringing back the Kiwi team. Then Matt Henry (72) gave New Zealand the lead by playing an aggressive inning. New Zealand got the spirit to fight only from Darryl Mitchell's innings.

After this, in the second innings, while chasing the target of 285 runs, New Zealand started in such a way that it seemed that the match would be a draw. But Daryl Mitchell came to the crease and scored 81 runs in 86 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes. He filled the spirit of victory in the entire team including Kane Williamson. This was the reason that the result of the match came out on the last ball and the Kiwi team became the winner. Daryl Mitchell was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant performance.
