Among online apps, 17% of consumers use Amazon for grocery shopping while 15% use Flipkart. 8 percent of people shop from Jio Mart.
Axis My India surveyed 10,207 people. Of this, 70 percent of people were from villages and 30 percent were from cities. Of this, 56 percent were men, while 44 percent were women. Pradeep Gupta, Chairman, and Managing Director, of Axis My India, said, “India's steady economic growth and signs of declining prices have improved consumer confidence. The month-long festive festivities have worked to enhance this spirit. Health-related expenses such as vitamins, tests, and healthy food have increased for 39 percent of households.
29 percent did more shopping in festivals
29% of consumers have already made more purchases or are planning to buy more this festive season. 37 percent preferred to buy more clothes during the sales season, while 23 percent and 14 percent preferred to buy groceries and food items, respectively.

Wheat exports doubled year-on-year to $1.48 billion in the September half. Exports stood at $63 million in the same period a year ago. Although the government banned the export of wheat in May, exports are allowed to some countries demanding wheat to meet food requirements. The commerce ministry said the global wheat supply has been severely disrupted due to the Ukraine war. Exports of agricultural and processed food products grew by 25 percent during this period.
