A few days back, an accident took place in Guwahati, allegedly due to a defect in an Ola electric scooter. The driver was seriously injured in this. After the incident, the victim's father had complained, after which the company made public the telemetry data of the electric scooter after investigation. The injured's father Balwant Singh has threatened to take action against Ola owner Bhavish Aggarwal, making serious allegations against the company for making telemetry data public.
Accused the father of the driver injured in the accident
Balwant Singh, the father of the injured driver, tweeted on April 15. In it, he wrote that his son had an accident due to a defect in the regenerative braking of the Ola electric scooter. He had alleged that the scooter accelerated instead of slowing down at the speed breaker, generating so much torque that the accident took place.
The company told that the incident happened due to Overspeed
In response, Ola had asked Balwant Singh to investigate the matter. After the completion of the investigation, the company made the telemetry data of the scooter public. Ola had reported that the speed of the scooter was between 95 kmph and 115 kmph on the night of the accident. At the time of the accident, the driver had applied all the brakes simultaneously.
Accused of making data public
At the same time, after making the data public, Balwant Singh, the father of the injured, has made serious allegations against the company and said that the data should be removed. Failure to do so, Balwant Singh has warned of taking action against Bhavish Aggarwal, the owner of Ola. He wrote in a tweet that this is a violation of his privacy. Balwant Singh tweeted with a screenshot of the takedown notice that Ola has publicly published telemetry data without my consent. The company has violated the privacy law.
The incident happened on 26 March
Let us tell you that this incident happened on March 26, when Balwant Singh's son was driving Ola S1 Pro. Balwant Singh then tweeted and wrote that my son was admitted to the hospital on 26 March due to a scooter accident. Due to a defect in the Ola S1 Pro, he suffered a fracture in his left hand and 16 stitches in his right hand.
Let us tell you that Ola Electric has recently recalled 1,441 e-scooters for the health checkup of the respective batch. The company said that an internal investigation into the fire that broke out in the Ola S1 Pro e-scooter in Pune on March 26 revealed that the thermal incident was an isolated incident.
