Tensions are increasing between the US and its Western allies and Russia over Ukraine. The US and its allies have decided to supply more lethal weapons to Ukraine. At the same time, Russia's warning of nuclear war with the help of Ukraine has also been rejected.

Lethal weapons will be supplied to Ukraine

At a meeting of representatives of 40 countries including the US at Germany's Rammstein Air Base, it has been decided to equip Ukraine with heavy weapons. The European Headquarters of the US Air Force is located at this airbase. Welcoming the delegates, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that countries around the world are united in their resolve to assist Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Ukraine is confident of victory in the war. This is the belief of all the people gathered here. The US and its allies in Europe have announced to provide howitzer guns, drones, anti-aircraft Stinger, and anti-tank Javelin missiles to Kyiv. Departing from its former stand, Germany has also announced the supply of anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine.

Kirby said nuclear war cannot be won

US Pentagon spokesman John Kirby dismissed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's warning of a nuclear attack on US and Western aid to Ukraine. He said warnings are not going to help. Nuclear war cannot be won and it should not be fought either. He said there was no reason to see the Ukraine war turning into a nuclear war.

Sweden and Finland will join NATO

According to Swedish media reports, Sweden and Finland are preparing to jointly apply for NATO membership. Both countries can apply between 16-and 20 May. At the same time, Finnish President Sauli Niinisto will be on an official visit to Sweden. Russia has warned both countries of dire consequences if they join NATO.
