Protests are going on across the country against the three agricultural laws implemented by the central government. The farmers' agitation has been going on since November 2020 demanding the withdrawal of agricultural laws. The three agricultural laws passed by the central government have been opposed for a long time. Thousands of farmers are agitating on the borders of Delhi. The Supreme Court has stayed the implementation of all the three agricultural laws brought by the central government.

At the same time, Shiromani Akali Dal is celebrating one year of the enactment of three agricultural laws today i.e. September 17 as Black Day. In Delhi, party workers along with farmers are taking out a protest march to Parliament demanding the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws. However, a large number of police forces have been deployed because of the farmers' protest. Police are trying to stop the farmers from place to place in Delhi, but the farmers are moving forward. Let us tell you what happened in the farmers' movement so far and when and when there were talks between the government and the farmers.

These are the three new agricultural laws

The first law of the farmers' movement is the Agricultural Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020. In this, the government is saying that it wants to increase the option of selling the produce of the farmers. You can also sell and buy crops in other states without any hindrance. The government claims that through this law, farmers will now be able to sell their produce outside the APMC mandis at higher prices and get better prices from private buyers.

Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Contract Bill 2020 on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services. Under this bill, it is proposed to make a system for contract farming across the country. In case of crop failure, the loss will have to be compensated not by the farmers but by the contracting parties or companies.

The Essential Commodities Amendment Bill The Essential Commodities Act was made in 1955. But under the new agricultural laws, the stock limit on agricultural products like edible oils, oilseeds, pulses, onions, and potatoes has been abolished.
