Not only this, but people in the flood-affected areas in Sindh are also facing difficulty in breathing. Sindh is one of those provinces in the country where the flood situation has taken a very dire form. Millions of people have been rendered homeless due to this flood. The Knighted Nation Population Fund (UNFPA) report states that around 6.50 lakh women are pregnant in flood-affected areas across the country, out of which 73,000 will be delivered this month. The UN report said that better health facilities are needed in these areas soon.
The UN report is not limited to this, but it has also expressed concern over the increase in gender-based violence in Pakistan. According to the report, about 10 lakh houses have been damaged due to this flood. The Government of Pakistan has declared a National Emergency because of the threat of floods.
