Pakistan Politics: Pakistan's deposed Prime Minister Imran Khan has warned that the country will plunge into civil war if new elections are not announced. According to the 'Dawn' newspaper, in an interview with 'Bol News' on Wednesday, Imran Khan said that he is waiting for the Supreme Court's decision on his party's plea to provide security to the protesters, after which he will go to the general public. We will issue a date for next March regarding the demand for elections.

 

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman warned, "We will see if they allow us to go for elections by legal and constitutional means or else this country will go to (a) civil war."

 

'It would mean accepting that conspiracy'

 

Imran Khan further said that there was "no question" of returning to the National Assembly as it would mean "accepting the conspiracy" that toppled his government.

 

Khan was removed from office via a no-confidence vote in April but refused to accept the result, alleging that the US was involved in toppling his government.
