As the prime minister warned, thousands of Imran Khan's supporters are already on the streets and motivated enough to take over the state's institutions, which could lead to civil war.

In this regard, the generals have already warned the Imran Khan Brigade to refrain from pelting mud. Shirin Mazari was involved in an incident in one of his games. Journalists who supported Imran have also been accused of sedition. Media officials have issued a stern warning against derogatory references to judges and generals.

Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said in the past that there is a possibility of holding general elections before the appointment of the new army chief. Asif was quoted by Dawn newspaper citing an interview given to BBC Urdu that we may hold elections before November before the appointment of the (new) army chief.
