PTI president demands dissolution of the assembly
Islam Khabar, citing reliable sources, said that the army was in discussions to select a political and financial leader before the announcement of the election. As the prime minister warned, thousands of Imran Khan's supporters are already on the streets and motivated enough to take over the state's institutions, which could lead to civil war.

Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said in the past that there is a possibility of holding general elections before the appointment of the new army chief. Asif was quoted by Dawn newspaper citing an interview given to BBC Urdu that we may hold elections before November before the appointment of the (new) army chief. At that time there would be a caretaker government. It is also possible that the caretaker government is gone and the new government (in power) may be in place before November.
