Pakistan's Supreme Court's decision - Contempt proceedings against Imran will continue

The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday allowed the Election Commission (ECP) to proceed against the country's former prime minister Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry in cases related to contempt of the poll body. Continue the proceedings. While the Election Commission has been allowed to continue with the contempt proceedings, it has been restrained from passing a final decision.

The party challenged the proceedings of the Commission in this matter in various High Courts. After this, the matter reached the Supreme Court.

In a separate case, the Election Commission of Pakistan warned PTI leaders that arrest warrants would be issued against them if they did not appear before the commission on January 17 to face contempt proceedings, according to Pakistani newspaper Dawn. .
