All major political parties have stepped up their preparations in the wake of the Bihar Assembly elections. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of seven projects worth 543.28 crore in Bihar. These projects are linked to the Centre's Namami Gange and Amarut Yojana. These include projects related to Siwan, Chhapra besides Patna's Beur and Karmalichak sewer treatment plants.
Highlights of PM Modi's virtual rally-
- During the challenge of Corona, the campaign of development and good governance in Bihar is going to run in this way. This is how we are going to move ahead with full force, full strength. But with this, every Biharman and countryman should never forget the resolve to prevent infection. - PM Modi
- Bihar will work so fast, it will be completed after the start of work, this thing could not be imagined even a decade and a half ago. But the efforts of Nitishji have proved this to be true by the efforts of the Central Government. - PM
- PM Modi said that to give impetus to the mission of self-reliant Bihar 'self-reliant India', it is very important to prepare the small cities of the country especially according to the needs of the future.
- Urbanization is the reality of today. But for many decades we had a mindset, we had assumed that urbanization is a problem in itself, a hindrance. But I do not believe so. If there is a problem, then there is an opportunity. - PM Modi
Now, with the joint efforts of the Center and the Government of Bihar, basic amenities like drinking water and sewer are constantly improving in the cities of Bihar. In the last 1 year, more than 2 crore water connections have been given all over the country under the Water Life Mission. Today, more than 1 lakh houses are being connected through pipes to new connections of water every day. - PM Modi
- The Prime Minister further said that Nitish Ji, Sushil Ji, and his team have been trying to restore the confidence of the most vulnerable section of the society for the past one and a half decades. Just as the education of daughters, participation of underprivileged, exploited society has been given priority in local bodies including Panchayati Raj.
- When selfishness prevails over governance, the vote bank system suppresses the system, then the most affected is the section of society that is oppressed, deprived, and exploited. The people of Bihar have endured this pain for decades. PM
- PM Modi further said that after this there was a period when the priorities and commitments changed completely, instead of building basic facilities in Bihar, instead of providing modern facilities to the people of the state. As a result, the focus shifted away from governance in the state.
- PM Modi said- In the early days after independence, Bihar got the leadership of big and visionary leaders. Who also tried their best to remove the distortions caused by slavery.
Bihar is the land of historical cities. The cities have had a rich heritage here for thousands of years. Economic, cultural, and politically rich and prosperous cities developed around the Ganges Valley in ancient India. - PM Modi
Bihar also has a major contribution to the work of nation-building. Bihar gives millions of engineers who have given new heights to the development of the country. The land of Bihar is synonymous with invention and innovation. - PM Modi
- PM said that today is Engineers Day. Indian engineers have their own distinct identity. They are accelerating the development of the country. I salute all the engineers and their building power.
- PM Modi said- The four schemes which are being inaugurated today include the sewer treatment plants at Beur and Karamlich in Patna city, as well as projects related to water in Siwan and Chhapra under Amrit Yojana.
Besides, water supply projects to address water scarcity in Munger and Jamalpur and Tahar River Front Development Scheme of Namami Gange in Muzaffarpur have also been laid: PM
