PM Modi holds review meeting regarding oxygen supply, directs to create coordination with states

The problem of lack of oxygen has arisen in hospitals of many big cities in the country due to increasing cases of the corona. However, the state and central government are constantly taking initiative for this. Many states have requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help with oxygen used for health facilities. Now the news is coming that the Prime Minister held a high-level review meeting regarding this.

 

The Prime Minister's Office has said, "To ensure adequate medical grade oxygen supply in the country, PM Modi conducted a comprehensive review. Inputs from ministries like Health, DPIIT, Steel, Road Transport were also shared with the PM. He stressed that it is important that the coordination between the ministry and the state government be ensured.

Prime Minister Modi made a detailed review of the estimated use of oxygen and the current status of oxygen supply in the next 15 days in 12 states most affected by Coronavirus infection. An official said that the Prime Minister was informed about the production capacity of medical oxygen to meet the growing demand. Prime Minister Modi suggested increasing oxygen production according to the capacity of each plant. During the review, the PM asked the officials to ensure the uninterrupted movement of oxygen-carrying tankers across the country.

 

Rational Use of Medical Oxygen State: Center

Earlier, the Center on Thursday asked the states to make rational use of medical oxygen and ensure that it is not wasted. He also said that oxygen is available in sufficient quantity in the country. The Union Health Ministry said that medical oxygen is an important component in the treatment of Covid-19 patients. An inter-ministerial strength group of officials was formed during the Covid-19 epidemic in March 2020 to provide medical equipment, including medical oxygen, to the states affected by the pandemic.

 

"Production in oxygen manufacturing units has been increased," the ministry said. The stock already exists. Oxygen is present in sufficient quantity at the moment. ”The ministry said in a statement that it was also directed to create control rooms and review the requirement of cylinders and tankers to ensure smooth supply of oxygen to the states as per the requirement. is.

 

One patient dies due to oxygen removal in Covid-19 ICU

A 52-year-old coronavirus-infected patient admitted to a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh died due to oxygen removal. The oxygen is given to the said patient was allegedly removed by the ward boy to be given to another patient. The incident took place on Wednesday night in the intensive care room (ICU) of Covid-19 of Shivpuri District Hospital. The deceased's name is Surendra Sharma and he was a teacher in a government school. An investigation team of doctors has been formed in this case.
