According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi will reach Chennai on Thursday to inaugurate the 44th International Chess Olympiad and the convocation of Anna University on July 29. Will attend the ceremony. A press release has been issued by Chennai Police regarding the security of PM Modi, in which it has been said that Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal has reviewed the security arrangements. A five-tier security cordon has been made for PM Modi, in which 22,000 policemen including senior officers will be deployed.

The places where PM Modi will visit the venues of the two programs are being closely monitored. Lodges and hotels are being checked to keep an eye on the possible movement of suspicious persons, the release said.
Ban on blowing balloons
In addition, the police, under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), have issued orders for microlight aircraft, hot air balloons, gas-filled balloons, and small-sized aircraft, "about security measures" ahead of PM Modi's visit on July 28 and 29. There was a ban on flying objects like powered aircraft and para-jumping.
PM Modi to visit Gujarat and Tamil Nadu on 28-29 July
PM Modi will first visit his home state Gujarat and then the southern state of Tamil Nadu today i.e. on July 28. The PMO said that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of several projects worth Rs 1,000 crore of Sabar Dairy at Gandhoda Chowki in Sabarkantha, Gujarat on July 28 at noon. Sabar Dairy has a capacity of around 1.20 lakh tonnes per day.
PM Modi to inaugurate powder plant at Sabar Dairy
According to a statement issued by the PMO, these projects will empower local farmers and milk producers and increase their income. Along with this, the rural economy of the region will also get a boost. The Prime Minister will inaugurate a powder plant at Sabar Dairy with a capacity of about 120 million tonnes per day (MTPD). The total cost of this entire project is more than Rs 300 crore.
According to the PMO, this plant with almost zero emissions consumes very little energy. The plant is equipped with the latest and fully automatic bulk packing line. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Aseptic Milk Packaging Plant at Sabar Dairy. Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone of the Sabar Cheese and Whey Drying Plant project.
Sabar Dairy is a part of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which produces and markets a complete range of milk and milk products under the brand Amul.
After this, the Prime Minister will go to Chennai and will start the 44th Chess Olympiad at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium there. The PMO said that the next day July 29, the Prime Minister will attend the 42nd convocation of Anna University at 10 am. The Prime Minister will present gold medals and certificates to 69 gold medal winners at the 42nd convocation ceremony of Anna University. The Prime Minister will also address a gathering on the occasion.
Anna University was established on September 4, 1978. It is named after the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu CN Annadurai. This includes 13 affiliated colleges, 494 affiliated colleges spread across Tamil Nadu, and three regional campuses- Tirunelveli, Madurai, and Coimbatore.
