According to Mahesh Palawat, chief meteorologist of private weather agency Skymet Weather, monsoon activities are reaching the Gangetic plains at this time. There is a possibility of good rain in Delhi in the next 24 hours. During this period, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy falls are possible over Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim parts of Assam, and Madhya Pradesh.
Light to moderate rain is very likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, the rest of Northeast India, Chhattisgarh, parts of Vidarbha, Telangana, parts of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Konkan and Goa, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain is possible over the rest of the country except South Rajasthan and Saurashtra and Kutch.
Rain alert in 19 districts of Bihar
Eight districts of Bihar received heavy rains in the last 24 hours. Today rain alert has been issued in 19 districts of the state. Bihar should have received an average of about 20 inches of rainfall during the current monsoon period, but it has received only about 10 inches. The condition is expected to improve with fresh rains. People got relief from heavy rain in the capital Patna. The Meteorological Department on Friday in these 19 districts of the state – West and East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Madhepura, Saharsa An alert has been issued for heavy rain in some places and good rain in other places.

It rained heavily.
