'PM Modi's US visit added a new chapter to India-US relations', said S Jaishankar in 2+2 ministerial dialogue

Relations between India and America are continuously becoming stronger. The leaders of both countries are often seen discussing many global issues. Not only this, but both countries have often tried to solve many global problems through consensus.

 

Conversation before 2+2 dialogue

In this series, once again India and America are going to hold a 2+2 dialogue. Many global issues are likely to be discussed in this meeting. Foreign and Defense Ministerial talks of America and India are going to be held in Delhi. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Minister Lloyd Austin have reached India to attend this meeting.

The defense sector remains a strong pillar

During the 2+2 ministerial dialogue between India and the US, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, "India-US bilateral relations have witnessed growing convergence of strategic interests and enhanced defense, security and intelligence cooperation. Our bilateral relations have strengthened. The most important pillar of the US is the defense sector. Your visit to India comes at a time when India and the US are closer than ever. We look forward to working together with the US to build partnerships that address capabilities and challenges. "We look forward to working together again. Our partnership is vital to ensuring a free, open, and rules-bound Indo-Pacific region."

 

Cooperation extends from sea to space

During the India-US 2+2 ministerial talks, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said, "We are meeting at a very special time. In the face of urgent global challenges, it is more important than ever that the world's two largest democracies exchange ideas, find common goals, and work for our people. We have made impressive gains in building our major defense partnerships last year and this will allow us to contribute even more to peace and stability. "The scope of our cooperation is vast; it extends from sea to space."

 

The focus will be on the Indo-Pacific region

During the meeting, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said, "The highlight of this year was the PM's state visit to the United States in June, which has opened a new chapter in our relations. President Joe Biden's visit to Delhi in September contributed greatly to the positive trajectory of our relations. Their support was crucial to ensuring a productive outcome at the G20 Summit. Building a visionary partnership while we build a shared global agenda. At 2+2, we look forward to cross- Cutting will take a broad overview of strategic, defense, and security ties, technology and supply chain cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges. The main focus of our discussions today will be the Indo-Pacific region."

 

'If we cooperate...'

During the 5th India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue, US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken said, "Together we are harnessing the power of innovation to make our economies more resilient and our communities more secure. This collaboration on semiconductors and advanced biotechnology, within our countries as well as across the region is evident in our unprecedented investments in deploying clean energy at large scale and in our joint research and exploration projects in space. When Indians and Americans study, work, and collaborate, the possibilities for progress are endless. "

 

Lloyd Austin honored

The US Defense Minister reached New Delhi on Thursday to attend the meeting. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh welcomed him at the airport and also honored him by giving him a 'Guard of Honour' at the airport.
