President, PM congratulate Australia for World Cup win

New Delhi, March 29 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Australia cricket team on winning the 2015 World Cup in Melbourne.

"Congratulations to Australia on its fifth World Cup win," the president tweeted.

Australia beat New Zealand by seven wickets in the final at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to clinch their fifth title.

"I congratulate the Australian cricket team for yet another World Cup victory. A very good performance," Modi tweeted.
