Punjab Election 2022: AAP started televoting - told the public, select the face of your CM candidate yourself

Punjab Assembly Election 2022: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has asked people to tell their favorite candidate amidst the ongoing political discussions regarding the chief ministerial candidate in Punjab. The party has asked voters to dial 7074870748 to indicate their choice of name for the post of CM. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal have claimed that he will reveal the party's favorite CM face, chosen by people based on televoting, on January 17. Kejriwal has also said that this is the first time in politics that a party is asking the public to select its chief minister.

People of Punjab can disclose the name of their choice through call, WhatsApp, or SMS on 7074870748. These phone lines will remain open till 5 pm on January 17. Kejriwal said that we will see the reaction of the public and according to their feedback, the party will select the candidate for the post of CM. The party has also launched a poster announcing the vote for it. It has been said that people will select their CM. Call on 7074870748. This move can be called disappointing for Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann, as he has been keeping the ambitions of the post of CM for a long time.

Delhi CM while answering the questions said that Bhagwant Mann is very dear to me. He is my younger brother (younger brother). He is the tallest leader of the Aam Aadmi Party. I was also saying that he should be the chief ministerial candidate. However, he said that people should be allowed to decide on this. Is Kejriwal one of the options before the public? On this Arvind Kejriwal said that I am not in the race.

AAP has emerged as a formidable challenger to the ruling Congress party in Punjab. The BJP-Amarinder alliance and the Akali Dal alliance have made the contest all-round. However, all the parties are very cautious about the post of CM. In the 2017 assembly elections, Congress formed the government, winning 77 seats out of a total of 117 constituencies. AAP became the second-largest party with 20 seats. Akali Dal had won 15 seats in the election. Whereas BJP won only 3 seats.
