The heads of states of India, America, Japan, and Australia met in Tokyo between the Russia-Ukraine war and Kovid-19. Today the Quad Leaders' Summit (Quad Summit 2022) meeting was held in Tokyo. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, President of America Joe Biden, and Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese participated in this meeting. During this, many issues including the Russia-Ukraine war were discussed in the meeting of the Quad Leaders Summit. Here the heads of state of all the countries gave their views.

 

PM Modi at the Quad Leaders Summit said that in such a short period, the 'Quad' group has made an important place on the world stage. Today the scope of 'Quad' has become wider and the form has become dominant. Our mutual trust and determination are giving new energy and enthusiasm to the democratic forces.

The PM further said that despite the adverse circumstances of Kovid-19, we have increased mutual coordination in many areas like vaccine distribution, climate action, supply chain resilience, disaster response, and economic cooperation. It has ensured peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

During this, Prime Minister Modi also congratulated Australian PM Anthony Albanese for winning the election. PM Modi said that your presence among us 24 hours after taking oath shows the strength of Quad's friendship and your commitment towards it.

US President Joe Biden made a statement at the Quad Leaders Summit. The US will be a strong, stable, and permanent partner in the Indo-Pacific, he said. We are the powers of the Indo-Pacific. As long as Russia continues the war, we will remain partners and lead the global response. We stand together for shared values ​​and the vision we have, he added. Quad has a lot of work ahead. We have a lot of work to do to keep the region peaceful and stable, tackle this pandemic, and address the climate crisis that follows.

 

What the Japanese PM said at the Quad Leaders Summit

 

Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told the Quad Leaders' Summit that Russia's invasion of Ukraine "completely challenges the principles of the United Nations Charter". We should listen carefully to the voices of ASEAN, South Asia as well as Pacific Island countries. To advance cooperation, which is conducive to resolving urgent issues.

The Australian PM said that we will act by recognizing that climate change is the main economic and security challenge for the island nations of the Pacific Ocean. My government will set a new target of reducing emissions by 43% by 2030 and get us on track for net-zero emissions by 2050.

 

PM Modi attends 'Quad' fellowship event

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida attended the 'Quad' fellowship event in Tokyo, Japan. During this, Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, PM Modi, US President Joe Biden, and Australian PM Anthony Albanese applied for the Quad Fellowship. It will sponsor 100 American, Australian, Indian and Japanese students to study in the US each year for graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
