Rahul Gandhi: Controversy over Rahul Gandhi's visit to Vietnam, BJP called it an insult to late former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

Posted on 31st Dec 2024 11:21 am by rohit kumar

The war of words between BJP and Congress, which began after the death of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, continued on Monday as well. BJP termed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Vietnam visit as an insult to Dr. Singh and said that while the country is mourning his death, Rahul went abroad to celebrate New Year. Congress termed it as politics to divert attention from the issue. It said, that if Rahul travels on a personal basis, then why does anyone have a problem with it?

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya alleged that Rahul and Congress hate Sikhs. Rahul's disrespect towards Dr. Singh cannot be ignored. He alleged that Rahul took political advantage of Dr. Singh's death. At the same time, Congress leader Manikam Tagore said, the way the central government refused to provide a place on the Yamuna bank for Dr. Singh's last rites was shameful.

Family's privacy taken care of

Congress leader Pawan Khera said that keeping in mind the privacy of Dr. Singh's family, no one from the party or the Gandhi family participated in his immersion. Dr. Singh's ashes were immersed in the Yamuna by his family members according to Sikh customs. The BJP alleged that no member of the Congress or the Gandhi family attended this sensitive occasion, which is quite shameful for the party.

Congress insulted Narasimha Rao: K Kavitha

Amid the uproar in political circles over the arrangements for the funeral of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLC K Kavitha accused the Congress of not cremating former PM PV Narasimha Rao in Delhi. She said on Monday that the Congress has disrespected Narasimha Rao.

Kavitha said it is a well-known fact that the Congress government has ignored and insulted Rao. They did not allow his funeral to be held in Delhi. We have respected him in Telangana. We celebrated his birth centenary. We built a huge memorial here in Hyderabad. Calling the discussion going on about former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh unfortunate, she demanded that a memorial should be built for him and former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao in Delhi. Kavita said, whatever discussion is going on about Manmohan Singh is very unfortunate.
