Non-availability of medical facilities is a big problem when a passenger's health deteriorates while traveling on a train. Even after the order of the Supreme Court, the facility medical box is not available as per the standard on trains and railway stations. Taking this seriously, the Railway Board has directed the officers not to be negligent in this matter. A report has been sought from all Zonal Railways in this regard. Only a first aid box is kept in most railway stations or trains. This provides relief to passengers in case of fever, minor injury, or any other general health problem, but if someone becomes seriously ill during the journey, he does not get the necessary treatment on time. To solve this problem, the expert committee of AIIMS, constituted by the Supreme Court, submitted its report to the Director General of Railway Health in December 2017, in which it was said to take several steps to improve health facilities in railway stations and trains.
AIIMS expert committee recommendation
