Rain Clouds Republic Day Parade in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 26 (IANS) Republic Day celebrations in the national capital Monday were dampened with light rain since Sunday night. US President Barack Obama is the chief guest at India's 66th Republic Day parade.

Despite the light showers, enthusiastic people reached Rajpath to witness the parade which showcases India's military prowess and cultural diversity.

Due to the security threat, people were not even allowed to carry umbrellas to the venue.

Obama and his wife Michelle will be sitting in a special glass enclosure along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
