
A road accident took place in the Vadakkanchery area of Palakkad district of Kerala. The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus crashed. 9 died in this bus accident. 38 people were seriously injured. This information has been given by news agency ANI quoting Minister of State MB Rajesh.
The bus fell into the swamp after the collision
A tourist bus carrying school students rammed into a KSRTC bus from behind at Mangalam near Vadakkanchery here on Wednesday night. After the collision, the bus fell into the swamp. Nine people died in this and many others were injured. Around 38 injured have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment. The condition of many remains critical.

Among the dead are school teacher Vishnu VK, students Anjana Ajith, Emmanuel CS, Diya Rajesh, Chris Winterbourne Thomas, Elna Jose (student), Anoop (22), Rohit Raj (24), and Deepu.
The accident happened late Wednesday night
The accident took place on National Highway 544 (NH-544) at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. The tourist bus was on its way towards Ooty carrying the students of Basilios Vidyaniketan Senior Secondary School in Ernakulam. The KSRTC superfast bus was going from Kottarakkara to Coimbatore. The accident happened due to the collision of both.
Late night local people and police reached the spot and a rescue operation was carried out. During this, it was raining heavily. The injured were admitted to Palakkad District Hospital, Alathur Taluk Hospital, and a private hospital in Thrissur.

Harikrishnan (22), Ameya (17), Ananya (17), Shraddha (15), Anija (15), Amrita (15), Tanushree (15), Hin Joseph (15), Janema (15) at a private hospital in Thrissur, Arun Kumar (38), Blason (18), and Elsa (18) are undergoing treatment.
