Robbers kill three, escape with cash

Lucknow, Feb 27 (IANS) Three people were shot dead when two men on a motorbike opened fire and escaped with a cash trunk being transferred to an ATM here Friday, police said.

The audacious robbery took place around noon in a busy area when the cash van, with four men including two guards, was moving the cash to the ATM.

The four men in the van were identified as Udai, Anil Singh, Avanish and Arun. It was not clear who among them were killed.

Senior Superintendent of Police Yashaswi Yadav said CCTV footage from nearby shops captured the incident. He said people too clicked pictures of the attackers on their mobile phones.

"We have some definitive leads and hope to crack the case soon," he said, adding 15 police teams were trying to catch the culprits.
