Rohit Sharma broke Gavaskar's record as an opener for India by scoring 12,274 runs, but Sehwag is the number one

Indian cricket team captain and opener batsman Rohit Sharma scored 53 runs in his second group match of T20 World Cup 2022 against the Netherlands in 39 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours. Rohit Sharma broke Sunil Gavaskar's record with the help of these runs and came third in terms of scoring the most runs as an opener batsman in international cricket for India.

Hitman Rohit Sharma, based on his 53-run innings against the Netherlands, broke Sunil Gavaskar's record in terms of scoring the most runs as an opener in international cricket for India and came at number three. Sunil Gavaskar scored a total of 12,258 runs in his cricket career as an opener for India, but Rohit Sharma pushed him to number four. Rohit Sharma has now scored 12,274 runs as an opener and has come at number three.

 

Virender Sehwag holds the record for scoring the most runs in international cricket as an opener for India. Virender Sehwag scored a total of 15,758 runs for India as an opener, while second in this list is former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and who scored a total of 15,335 runs. Shikhar Dhawan is present at number five in this list with 10,746 runs.
