The list of automakers who have pulled out of business in Russia is getting longer. The new name in this list is the addition of the ultra-fast sports car maker Ferrari (Ferrari) and Lamborghini (Lamborghini). Ferrari has recently donated one million euros (about 839 million rupees) to Ukraine for humanitarian aid amid the Russian aggression. In addition, Ferrari has also suspended the production of its vehicles in Russia for the time being. Lamborghini has stopped business with Russia.
These automakers have taken this step when the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues unabated. Wednesday is the 14th day of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
"Can't ignore people's suffering"
Ferrari has been donated to help the local Ukrainian population and to fund international humanitarian projects. The company said it is also investing in local initiatives working to help refugees from Ukraine. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said: "While we look forward to a speedy return to dialogue and a peaceful resolution, we cannot ignore the suffering of all those affected. We stand with them with consideration and support."
Lamborghini has suspended its vehicle production in Russia. In a statement, the company said it is "deeply saddened by the events in Ukraine and is looking at the situation with grave concern."
Car delivery stopped
Lamborghini is part of the Volkswagen Group, which also owns brands such as Porsche. Volkswagen and Porsche have also stopped deliveries of their cars in Russia.
Steps were taken by companies around the world
Globally, Harley-Davidson (Harley-Davidson), Ford (Ford), GM (GM), Volvo (Volvo), Toyota (Toyota), Honda (Honda), and many other automobile companies have entered into business in or with Russia. Several steps have been announced to ban it.
