7.5 kg heroin, pistol, and cartridges have been recovered from India-Pakistan International Border in Firozpur, Punjab. These drugs and weapons were dropped through drones. Which was taken over by BSF. This consignment has been seized from Churiwala Chusti village of Fazilka.
According to the information given by the BSF officials, at midnight in the night, the soldiers heard the sound of the drone. The exact location could not be ascertained due to fog. However, BSF jawans also fired. After following the sound of the drone, a search operation was launched in the village of Churiwala Chusti. Meanwhile, a bag was found in the fields.
This is the third case in the last four days when a consignment of heroin and weapons has been recovered from the border. Counter Intelligence Punjab, now Border Security Force (BSF) started the investigation by taking possession of the consignment dropped by drone.
9 packets of heroin were also recovered
BSF officials told that when the packets were opened, there were 3 packets in them. When they were opened, 9 packets of heroin were recovered from them. Whose total weight was 7.5 kg? The international value of the heroin is estimated to be around Rs 56 crore. Along with this, BSF has got a pistol, two magazines, and 50 rounds of .9 mm.
Drone movement increasing due to fog
After the change in the weather, the fog on the border has increased a lot. Visibility on the border becomes zero due to mist. Smugglers sitting in Pakistan are taking advantage of this. This is the reason why drones are continuously coming from Pakistan for the last 15 days and BSF is also getting success in bringing them down continuously.
AK47 has been caught in 4 days
This is the third consignment in the last 4 days at the Ferozepur border. Earlier, on November 30, the counter-intelligence team of Punjab Police seized 5 AK47s, 5 pistols, and 13 kg. Heroin was recovered. On the other hand, on December 2 also, based on inputs, the Counter Intelligence team again recovered 5 AK47s and 5 pistols from Ferozepur.
