Rohit Sharma guilty of Mumbai's defeat: Unadkat had to give the last over in front of Dhoni, got out without opening the account

Mumbai Indians have become the first team in IPL history to lose the first seven matches in a row. Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai by three wickets in a thrilling match that lasted till the last ball. If one is to be found responsible for this weak performance of Mumbai, then captain Rohit Sharma's number will come first. Let us know why Rohit is guilty of this defeat.

Rohit failed for the sixth consecutive time in the season

For Rohit Sharma, this IPL is passing like a nightmare. As a batsman, he failed for the sixth time in a row and returned to the pavilion without opening an account on two balls. In the first match of this season, Rohit scored 41 runs. Since then, he could not even touch the 30-run mark even once. Three times he could not even reach a double-figure.

The captaincy also proved to be weak

Rohit Sharma's captaincy also proved to be very weak against Chennai. In IPL, it is well known that Mahendra Singh Dhoni enjoys smashing Jaydev Unadkat's balls. In the 2019 IPL also, Dhoni blew Unadkat's balls. Despite this, Rohit put Unadkat the front in front of Dhoni in the last over and the result was as expected. Dhoni again tore down Unadkat.

Most of the batsmen failed except Tilak Verma

The collective failure of the batting unit also proved to be a major reason for Mumbai's defeat. Tilak Verma (51) tried to fight the fort alone, but none of the other batsmen could go beyond 32 runs. Apart from Rohit, Ishan Kishan also could not open an account in this match. Dewald Brevis 4 and Kieron Pollard could only make 14 runs.
