Russia needs status

After the Second World War, the Soviet Union was emerging as a major power. Russia wanted to dominate the European countries. Due to this, relations of Russia with European countries deteriorated. America wants to take advantage of this condition of Russia, so it wants Ukraine to become a member of NATO and the EU. With this America can emerge as the biggest power.
