Russia described it as its biggest victory against Ukraine so far. Russia claims that 2,439 Ukrainian fighters hiding in Mariupol's steel plant have surrendered to Russian troops. According to a report in CBS News, soldiers hiding in the sleet plant are sending emotional messages to their wives. In this, he is mentioning that maybe now we will never come back. Olga Boiko, the wife of a Ukrainian soldier hiding in the plant, wipes her tears, as her husband wrote on Thursday, 'We are now surrendering to the Russian army. I don't know whether we will ever meet now or not. Love you, kiss you, bye.' Russia's state news agency RIA Novosti quoted the ministry as saying, on Friday, 500 more Ukrainian fighters hiding in Azhovstal laid down their arms before Russia. In this way, 2,439 Ukrainian fighters surrendered to Russian troops from Monday to Friday. However, so far there has been no statement from Ukraine in this regard. So far more than 20 thousand Ukrainian civilians are feared to have died in this war.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield told the BBC on Friday that the war is increasing the risk of food shortages around the world. He told that Russia has in a way captured the ports of Ukraine. Due to this, the level of fear of food shortage has reached 10 worldwide. Russia fired missiles at Ukraine's culture center

 

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia launched missile strikes in the northeastern Kharkiv region. The army targeted a cultural center, in which 7 people were injured.
