Patna, April 4 (IANS) Former MP Sadhu Yadav Friday said he will not contest the Lok Sabha polls from Bihar's Saran constituency, where his sister and former chief minister Rabri Devi is fighting on an RJD ticket, but from the Maharajganj constituency instead.
Anirudh Prasad Yadav alias Sadhu Yadav said he will contest the polls from Maharajganj as an Independent candidate. "I am sure to win polls from Maharajganj," he told media persons here.
Last month, Sadhu Yadav, who is brother-in-law of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad, surprised all when he announced he would take on his sister Rabri Devi in Saran.
Following his announcement, Lalu Prasad said he hardly takes notice of Sadhu Yadav while Rabri Devi said that he is like an enemy in the poll battle. .
"There will be no impact of Sadhu in the fray from Saran. He is not an issue for us," Lalu Prasad had told the media.
Lalu Prasad had won from Saran in 2009, but was disqualified after being convicted in the case of the multi-crore-rupee fodder scam last year.
Sadhu Yadav deserted the RJD five years ago and joined the Congress, only to quit it later.
