Samsung has created a new milestone in India's premium smartphone market. The company's latest foldable lineup—Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8—has received over 2.71 lakh pre-orders within just 72 hours of launch, making it Samsung's fastest-selling foldable smartphone series in the country.
Samsung Galaxy Z Series Creates New Pre-Order Record
Samsung launched the new Galaxy Z series on July 22, and the response has exceeded expectations. According to the company, it took nearly 15 days for the previous Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 to achieve a similar number of pre-orders.
The strong demand reflects the rapidly growing popularity of foldable smartphones in India.
Tier-2 Cities Drive Massive Demand
Samsung revealed that 45% of total pre-orders came from Tier-2 cities and smaller towns, highlighting the increasing adoption of premium foldable smartphones beyond metro cities.
JB Park, President & CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia, said the overwhelming response reflects Indian consumers' growing preference for innovative technology that enhances productivity and creativity. He added that smaller cities are emerging as a major growth market for Samsung's premium devices.
