The bank further said that customers can avail of the services at no extra cost, including sending money, requesting money, account balance, mini statement, and changing UPI PIN.

USSD is a technology platform through which information can be transmitted via a GSM network to a basic phone. It is available on all mobile phones with an SMS facility. SBI's decision will benefit those consumers who own more than 65 percent of India's one billion mobile phone users with feature phones.
