Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has posted on Instagram expressing anger over the rising air pollution in Delhi, in which he has shown a list of some countries of the world, in which Delhi is the most polluted city. He wrote that Delhi is officially the most polluted city in the world. The air level here is 4 times dangerous and the city is almost five times more polluted than the second most polluted city Dhaka. It is wrong that our government has been watching this for years and doing nothing about it.
Shashi Tharoor further wrote that I have run an air quality roundtable for experts and stakeholders, including MPs, since 2015, but left it last year because nothing changed and no one cared about it. This city is not worth living properly from November to January. It is also difficult to live in the rest of the year. The Congress leader has raised a very serious question of whether Delhi should be the capital of the country.

On November 18, at 4 pm, the AQI in Delhi was 494. In a notification, the university said, "In the larger interest of the students of the colleges and departments of Delhi University, it has been decided that classes will be conducted in online mode till Saturday, November 23, 2024.
