Big blow for Congress

Sushmita Dev became an MP from the Silchar seat of Assam in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections by contesting on a Congress party ticket. After this, she was also given charge of the All India Mahila Congress. But, the resignation of Sushmita Dev has become even more trouble for Congress after the defeat in the Assam Legislative Assembly elections.

left WhatsApp group, changed bio on Twitter

Before resigning, Sushmita Dev had also left the WhatsApp group of the Congress party. At the same time, he also removed his bio from Twitter. He has described himself as a former leader of the Congress party in the bio. This step was taken by Sushmita Dev after Twitter has suspended her account. Sushmita is also one of the leaders whose Twitter account has been suspended along with Rahul Gandhi.

Karti Chidambaram and Sibal said the party will have to brainstorm

After the resignation of Sushmita Dev, once again the politics of old vs youth has started in Congress. On one hand, youth leader Karthi Chidambaram has said that the party will have to brainstorm on why young people like Sushmita Dev are leaving him. On the other hand, Kapil Sibal has also tweeted in this matter and said that the young leaders are leaving the Congress and the allegations are on the old leaders.
