For the past few years, the South Industry in India has been earning more revenue than Bollywood. According to Statista.com, in the year 2019, South Industry had earned a revenue of 3900 crores, while Bollywood films could earn only 2800 crores. At the same time, the revenue of Bollywood films had come down to 9.3 billion in 2020.

South films affecting the earnings of Hindi films-

Recently, Pan India film Radhe-Shyam had a box office clash with Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's Jhund. While Jhund has collected only 13.51 crores so far, Prabhas's film has done more than 211 crores business. Pushpa also released Ranveer Singh's film 83 in a gap of a week.

Seeing the record-breaking earnings of South films in the last few years, now Bollywood filmmakers are avoiding clashing with South films. Gangubai Kathiawadi was supposed to release with RRR in early 2022, but Sanjay Leela Bhansali pushed her film to avoid a clash. Aamir Khan's film Laal Singh Chaddha was also earlier going to clash with KGF - Chapter 2, but to avoid the clash, Aamir Khan postponed the release of the film.

South films boom in the opening collection

After the Corona period, many big stars like Salman Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Amitabh Bachchan have been released in Bollywood, although only Akshay Kumar's film Suryavanshi has made a better collection in them. Sooryavanshi had an opening of 26.29 crores, while South's Master was the first film to have an opening collection of 42 crores despite its release in the Corona period. Apart from Master, films like Annaathe, Pushpa, Vakil Saab, Marakkar had earned record-breaking earnings.

Bollywood is lagging behind the remake trend

Over the years, action, comedy, romance, drama-rich films are being made in the South, whereas Bollywood is now mostly tied in genres like remakes, sequels, or biopics. Movies like Laxmi (Remake of Kanchana), Jersey (Remake of Jersey), Kabir Singh (Remake of Arjun Reddy), Ultimate (Mulshi Pattern) are remakes of South which have already been seen in South, so they are only Hindi. confined to the belt.

Pan India star turned south actor

Prabhas has become a pan India star since Bahubali. In his path, Allu Arjun, Ramcharan, Vijay, Jr NTR, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Yash have now become pan India stars, although Bollywood stars have been confined to the Hindi belt.

South stars' entry into Bollywood

South films ahead in making the hero a hero

South cinema has always been known for its unique story. For years, the hero is being given a strong role in films. Prabhas's image changed after Bahubali. Kannada hero Yash's strong role in KGF also managed to get him love across the country. Apart from this, in many South films like Master, Pushpa, the hero has been shown to have a powerful personality, whereas in Bollywood films, even today more work is being done on the image of policemen, agents, or goons.
