On the occasion of National Space Day, a special program was organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. During this, Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, along with other astronauts going on the Gaganyaan mission, were also present. Union Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh and ISRO Chairman V Narayanan were also present in the program. Prime Minister Modi addressed this program virtually. In his address, PM Modi congratulated the countrymen on the second National Space Day.
'India is achieving new achievements one after the other in the space sector'
The Prime Minister said that 'The theme of this time's Space Day is from Aryabhatta to Gaganyaan. It has the confidence of the past as well as the resolve of the future. Today, we are seeing that in such a short time, National Space Day has become a matter of enthusiasm and attraction among our youth. This is a matter of pride for the country.' The Prime Minister said that 'achieving new achievements one after the other in the space sector has become the nature of India and Indian scientists. Just two years ago, India became the first country to create history by reaching the south pole of the moon. We have also joined those countries that have acquired the capability of docking and undocking in space.'
India will build its own space station in the near time
He said that 'Shubhanshu Shukla filled every Indian with pride by hoisting the tricolor on the International Space Station. When he was showing me the tricolor, that moment and feeling was beyond words. Today, India is moving rapidly in the direction of important technologies like semi-cryogenic engines and electric propulsion. Soon, with the hard work of our scientists, Gaganyaan will also fly to success, and in the coming time, India will also build its own space station.'
Space technology is helping in administration
The Prime Minister said that 'I had said from the Red Fort that our path is the path of reform, perform and transform. Therefore, in the last 11 years, the country has continuously made big reforms one after the other in the space sector. Today, space technology is also becoming a part of administration in India. Assessment is being done with the help of satellites in the crop insurance scheme. Fishermen are getting information and security with the help of satellites. Space technology is also being used in disaster management or PM Gati Shakti etc. Today, India's progress in space is making the lives of citizens easier.
