Strict Corona Protocol for WTC Finals: Hotel staff as well as chartered plane staff carrying players to England will also be quarantined

Now more than a month is left for the final of the ICC Test Championship. India and New Zealand teams will be face-to-face in the title match to be held in Southampton, England from 18 to 22 June. Keeping in mind the Corona epidemic, the cricket boards of both countries as well as the ICC and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have started preparations to secure the players safely.

 

Taking lessons from IPL

The Indian Premier League (IPL-2021) had to be postponed after 29 matches due to the positive arrival of many players, coaches, and support staff. Learning from this, all the organizers and participants of the World Test Championship finals are leaving no stone unturned on their part. The ICC has instructed the BCCI and the New Zealand Cricket Board to strictly follow Corona's protocol rules in England. Before leaving for England, make sure that none of their players or support staff have any symptoms of the corona. For this, take all precautions including testing, isolation.

According to sources, the BCCI has planned to collect the players in the bio bubble in Mumbai before the England departure. All the players, coaches, and support staff of the team will gather in Mumbai on 19 May. In the beginning, no one will meet each other and all will be in isolation. Everyone will be corona tested every other day in seven-day isolation. If a member is found positive it will be quarantined. All the players will be mobilized only after all the reports come negative in 7 days.

 

Hotel staff, bus drivers will be in a bubble from a week ago

The hotel staff and other staff, including the bus, will be quarantined for a week before the players arrive in Mumbai. He will be examined by Corona every two days. Players will have to submit a test report 48 hours in advance in Mumbai. Only after being negative will they be able to enter the hotel, where they will have to stay for a week quarantine. There will be three Corona Tests during the Quarantine stay at the hotel. The first test will be on the first day, the second test will be on the third day and the third test will be on the sixth day. They will be able to leave for England only after all the tests are negative. The Indian team will travel to England from the chartered plane. Charter plane employees will also be quarantined one week in advance. They will also have a corona investigation.

 

Players of both teams will be quarantined for 10 days in different hotels in England

According to sources, on arrival in England, players of India and New Zealand will have to stay quarantined in different hotels. Hotel staff will be quarantined for 10 days before the players arrive. Not only this, the people engaged in looking after the staff and players will also remain quarantine. During this time both teams will be able to train, as they will shift from bio bubble to bio bubble. However, the players will not be able to go outside the hotel. During this, players will have to undergo a corona test every two days.

 

After quarantine, teams will stay in hotels near the stadium

After completing 10 days of quarantine, both teams will be shifted to the hotel near the ground. Employees of this hotel will also be quarantined in advance. As long as the players remain, the employees employed in their service will also remain in the bio-bubble. The players of both teams follow the rules of bio-bubble, for this, both teams will have to form a monitoring team, which will keep an eye on the players.

 

Senior officials of BCCI may also be involved in the final match

According to sources, senior officials of BCCI have also been included in the final of the ICC Test Championship being held for the first time. It is expected that these officers will also go from the charter plane along with the team. These too will be quarantined in Mumbai.
