The Supreme Court has given the last chance to rectify the mistakes of more than 1000 cases filed from 2014 to 2020. The court has given four weeks to the advocates for this. Along with this, it has also been warned that if the advocates fail to do so on record then these cases will be dismissed.
Justice PS Narasimha, in his recent order, said that there are 1000 cases listed in the court from 2014 to 2020 in which there were defects. Such files have been returned to the advocates for revision. These cases have not come back in the registry even after sending reminders, he said. In such a situation, the last four weeks are given to correct these defects. Failure to do so will result in the dismissal of the cases without any reference.
13,147 cases have been dismissed
Earlier, the Supreme Court had similarly dismissed 13,147 cases before August 19, 2014. The court said that many cases were filed more than eight years ago, but the mistakes in them were never corrected.
