The Supreme Court has refused to stay the proposed maha panchayat at Purola in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. A petition was filed against the Mahapanchayat in the court. The court refused to hear the petition. The Court has advised the petitioner to approach the High Court or the concerned authorities.

DGP's strict warning

On the other hand, Uttarakhand's DGP Ashok Kumar has also warned. He said that the district police and administration are fully prepared. We are taking all steps to maintain law and order in the state. No one will be allowed to break the law. Action will be taken against those who try to break the law.

Permission for maha panchayat was not received from the administration

Please tell that the administration has also not permitted the maha panchayat to be held on June 15. Its permission was sought from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the head organization. Along with this, preparations are being made to implement Section 144 in Purola.

What did CM Dhami say?

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that we have asked the people to maintain peace. Do not take any law into your hands. In all the incidents that have happened so far, the administration has acted properly on them. There has been no incident of assault or looting so far. If someone is guilty, the law will work against him.

Mehmood Madani's Letter to Amit Shah

On the other hand, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Mahmood Asad Madani has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on this matter. Madani has expressed concern over the incident in Uttarkashi. In his letter, he requested to stop the mahapanchayat. Madani said that if this does not happen, the law and order in Uttarakhand may deteriorate.

What is the matter?

On May 26, Jitendra Saini and Uwais Khan, residents of Bijnor, allegedly tried to abduct a minor girl in Purola. The youths were caught by the local people and traders. There is anger among the local people after this incident. Since the incident, not a single shop of Muslim traders has been opened in Purola. More than 30 shops in Purola are closed for the last 18 days, while 14 traders have vacated the shops.
