In the second ODI between India and West Indies, Axar Patel played a brilliant inning. Axar scored 64 not out off 35 balls and gave victory to Team India. Patel gave India victory by hitting a six in the last over, during which he broke some big records of legends like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Shoaib Malik, but he missed out on breaking Kapil Dev's one-year-old record. In 1983, Kapil Dev hit fifty off 22 balls against West Indies, which is the fastest fifty for India against West Indies. Akshar hit fifty off 27 balls and became the second fastest batsman for India against West Indies.

After the record for the fastest 50 against West Indies, Axar Patel has become the second Indian player to make 50 runs in 27 balls against the West Indies.
