Former India captain and National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief Rahul Dravid will be the coach for the tour of Sri Lanka. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced a 20-man squad for the Sri Lanka tour. The captaincy of the team has been given to Shikhar Dhawan. However, the coach was not announced. The Indian Express has quoted BCCI President Sourav Ganguly as saying that Rahul Dravid will be the coach for the Sri Lanka tour. This will be the second time that he will join the senior team India as a coach. Earlier in 2014, Dravid was the batting consultant of the Indian team during the tour of England. He has also been the coach of the India Under-19 and India-A teams.
Separate team for Sri Lanka tour
India's premier team is in England to play the World Test Championship final. Team India, captained by Virat Kohli, has to play in the final of the World Test Championship in Southampton from June 18 to 22.
