The war between Russia and Ukraine started on 24 February. Earlier, many world leaders were trying to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop it. Putin's intentions were wrong from the start
The talks indicate that Putin did not want to stop the attack on Ukraine in any way. He kept on repeatedly saying that Ukraine should talk to the Ukrainian rebel group supporting Russia. Macron flatly refuses to do so. Macron says - both NATO and Ukraine are not ready to talk to any rebel group.
