The boycott of Turkey and Azerbaijan is gaining momentum in India, and 30 percent of Indian tourists have cancelled their bookings.

The campaign to boycott Turkey and Azerbaijan for supporting Pakistan during Operation Sindoor is gaining momentum. This is not only affecting tourism but also the flight and business sectors.

At present, Indian tourists are cancelling their already made bookings for these two countries, let alone making new bookings. Tourist companies are also not taking new bookings.

 

People are preferring safer options.

 

According to EaseMyTrip, 22 percent of Turkey and 30 percent of Azerbaijan bookings have been cancelled. Indian tourists are now preferring safer options like Georgia, Serbia, Greece, Thailand, and Vietnam.

 

EaseMyTrip CEO and co-founder Rikant Pitti said that bookings for the affected areas have been stopped due to the uncertainties after the ceasefire. Also, it has been advised to avoid non-essential travel to the affected areas.

 

Indian tourists are keeping away from Turkiye Airlines despite suffering losses. Shailendra Srivastava, President of The Indigenous Federation of Tourism Integrity (TIFT), said that there is a big difference in air fares in case of long distances.

 

Around 5000 people used to book a trip to Turkiye from Ludhiana every year.

 

The airfare to Finland from Turkish Airlines is Rs 70,500, while it is Rs 1 lakh 3,500 from other airlines, yet people are booking with other airlines. Around 5000 people used to book a trip to Turkiye every year from Ludhiana, but now everyone has cancelled their tours.

 

The situation is the same in Jalandhar and Amritsar. According to travel agents, no new bookings are being made for Turkiye and Azerbaijan. Appeal of tourist places in IndiaMany people are now cancelling their trip to Turkiye and Azerbaijan and planning to travel in the country itself.

 

Turkey's booking cancelled with 35 members.

CAT will decide on a trade boycott today

 

The Federation of All India Traders (CAT) has called a meeting in Delhi on Friday to decide on stopping trade with Turkey and Azerbaijan.

 

CAT General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that there is no question of doing business with any country which is against India. He said that many major commodities are exported from India to Turkey, while crude petroleum, machinery, and other commodities are imported from Turkey to India.

 

Muslim organizations also supported the boycott.

 

Muslim organizations have also decided to boycott. Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) and All India Imam Organization (AIIO) have said that Turkey and Azerbaijan have supported Pakistan, so all the countrymen should unite and protest against it.

 

Traders of Punjab will not export

 

Traders of Punjab have also decided not to export Rs 500 crore every year to Turkey. They say that the unity of the country is paramount for them, and they are ready to bear this loss.

 

173 products are exported from Punjab to Turkey, which include antibiotics, tractors, tire tubes, plastic, steel products, yarn, and auto parts.

 

National President of Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIO) SC Ralhan said that there is anger across the country against the cowardly actions of Turkey. Given this, no trade will be done with Turkey.
