The central government has taken a big decision to protect the environment. The Modi government has decided to completely ban single-use plastic from July 1. On Tuesday, the central government announced that control rooms will be set up at the national and state level to ban single-use plastic. A special team will be formed to check the illegal manufacture, import, storage, distribution, and sale of single-use plastics. These things have been said in the statement issued by the Ministry of Environment.

The ministry said that states have been told that single-use plastic will not be sent from one state to another. "Single-use plastics hurt the environment," the statement said. Marine nature is also affected by this. The increasing pollution due to single-use plastic remains a challenge not only for India but for many countries.

Which items will be banned

The list of single-use plastic items that will be banned is as follows - plastic sticks, plastic sticks of balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice cream sticks, thermocol for decorations, plastic plates, cups, and glasses, wrapped in sweet boxes. Transparent Plastic, Plastic Spoons, Knives, Straws, Trays, Invitation Cards, Cigarette Packets, and PVC Banners Below 100 Microns.

Let us tell you that the government has decided to ban plastic many times, but it did not show much effect on the ground. Small traders also started opposing it. With this decision of the government, about 1 lakh small units will be closed.
