There are fewer active cases of corona in the country, less than 50 thousand cases in 17 states: Health Ministry

Most states in the country have seen a decline in active Corona. According to the Union Health Ministry, there are more than 1 lakh active cases in 11 states of the country. There are active cases of corona between 50,000 and 1 lakh in 8 states. There are fewer than 50,000 active corona cases in 17 states of the country. Maharashtra, UP, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh were more new cases of corona are coming up and there are also declines inactive cases. Along with this, the Ministry said that the cause of concern in Tamil Nadu where the number of active cases has increased in the last one week.

 

According to Luv Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health, there is a decrease in active cases in the country. On May 3, the recovery rate was 81.3 percent, after which recovery has improved. Now the recovery rate is 83.83 percent. 75 percent of the cases are coming from 10 states and 80 percent of the total active cases are in only 12 states.

 

The Health Secretary said that there are 24 states and union territories in the country where there is a positive rate of more than 15 percent. The positivity rate is 5 to 15 percent in 10 states. Positiveness rates below 5 percent are in 3 states. In the last 1 week, 18 state and union territory positivity rates have come down. The nationwide positivity rate, which was 21.9 percent, is now 19.8 percent.

 

Simultaneously, AIIMS director Randeep Guleria told that as corona cases are increasing, it is most important that we follow the protocol of infection control practices in hospitals. It has been observed that most of the patients are leading to death due to infection with other infections ie fungal and bacteria.

 

According to Guleria, steroid abuse is a major reason behind Mucormycosis. Patients taking diabetes, corona positive, and steroids have an increased likelihood of fungal infection. To prevent this, we must stop the misuse of steroids. This black fungus disease can affect the face, nose, eyes, or brain, which can also lead to vision loss. It can also spread to the lungs.
