Consultations with legal experts continue.
Chaudhary said that the committee is consulting many legal experts. The valuable opinion of the experts will help the committee in preparing recommendations. Sources said that the Lok Sabha can extend the tenure of this committee, as the committee will need more time to complete its work.
The committee was asked to submit its report on the first day of the last week of this session of Parliament. This deadline is ending on April 4.
Former Chief Justices UU Lalit and Ranjan Gogoi, eminent jurist Harish Salve, and former Delhi High Court Chief Justice AP Shah appeared before the committee and answered members' questions on various issues related to the proposed law.
