
A speeding train derailed on Saturday in southwest China's Guizhou province due to a landslide, killing the driver and injuring at least seven passengers. Bullet train D2809 traveling from China's southwestern Guiyang province to the southern province of Guangzhou derailed due to a sudden landslide at Rongjiang station at that time. According to the Global Times newspaper, the seventh and eighth coaches of the train derailed at the entrance of the Yuezhai Tunnel. The driver died in this incident. All the injured passengers were sent to the local hospital and another 136 passengers have been rescued. Rescue work has been started at the spot and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
