New Delhi, March 21 (IANS) Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said two terrorists who attacked an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district have been "neutralised".
"I think two terrorists have been neutralised," Parrikar said, adding that a search for more militants was still going on.
However, army sources in Jammu told IANS that the gunfight is still continuing. The sources also did not confirm that the two terrorists were dead.
Armed militants on Saturday morning attacked the Mesar camp of the 82 armoured regiment in Samba district triggering a gunfight with the security forces.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, Parrikar said there were no casualties on the Indian side. However, a pilgrim and two soldiers were injured.
Parrikar said intelligence has improved over time and this year the security forces have killed 26 terrorists so far, with lesser number of casualties on the Indian side.
"With such low loss, we inflict pain on the other side," he said.
Saturdays's attack came after guerrillas attacked Rajbagh police station in neighbouring Kathua district of the Jammu region on Friday. Six people - two terrorists, two CRPF troopers, a policeman and a civilian were killed in the attack.
