Umran Malik's father's prayer was accepted: Abdul Malik said - When scolded in childhood, Umran used to say 'see I will play for India'

Jammu Express Umran Malik's childhood dream came true. He got a chance to play for Team India on Saturday. Earlier, Umran was also included in Team India's squad for the three-match T20I series against South Africa but did not get a chance in the playing XI.

 

After the son's debut, Umran's father Abdul Rashid, sharing his happiness with Dainik Bhaskar, said that the prayers of the countrymen were accepted. Ever since his debut in IPL last year, people were praying for him to join Team India. Today the one above has accepted everyone's prayers.

He said that Umran used to play cricket with children in the streets since he was young. If I would ever scold him on something, he would reply – Papa, I will play for India one day. Will live up to the expectations of the countrymen

 

Malik said that Umran was not at all disappointed at not getting a chance during the home series against South Africa, he had faith in the above. He used to tell me that there is a lot to learn from being with the team. When the time comes, there will also be a chance to debut. I am sure that Umran will live up to the expectations of the countrymen.

 

Father did not want their son to sell vegetables and fruits

 

Umran's father has a fruit and vegetable shop at Shaheedi Chowk in Jammu. Malik did not want his son to sell vegetables and fruits like him. That's why he told Umran never to come to the shop. Malik told that he never stopped Umran from playing cricket.

 

Used to exercise till late evening at home

 

Malik told that the passion for cricket in Umran was such that he used to exercise till late in the evening. Not only this, but even at home, he used to insist on playing cricket with both his elder sisters.

 

Abdul Samad took him to Hyderabad

 

The credit for connecting Umran Malik with the Sunrisers Hyderabad team goes to the player of Jammu, Abdul Samad. Abdul Samad used to train in the stadium with permission from the government during the lockdown. During that time he used to take Umran along to practice batting.

 

When the players of the Sunrisers team asked about Samad's better shot on fast bowlers, he told that there is a bowler who can bowl very fast in his academy. Practice on the same ball. After this, the team management asked for videos from Umran and later he was included in the team as a net bowler.
