Mumbai, Feb. Feb 28 (IANS) Unseasonal showers and drizzle in large parts of Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and other parts of Maharashtra brought down temperatures here Saturday, weather officials said.
The heavily overcast skies since morning gave way to drizzles and gentle showers in most parts of Mumbai and surrounding areas with people virtually deserting the streets and preferring to watch the India-UAE cricket match or the Union budget presentation.
The weather bureau has forecast more rain and thundershowers across the state over the next couple of days with hailstorms in Marathwada, parts of Vidarbha and central Maharashtra.
The temperatures recorded in Mumbai today were: Colaba- 27.2 (Max) and 21 (Min) degrees and Santacruz- 28.7 (Max) and 18.4 (Min) degrees.
The mercury will hover around 28 degrees maximum and 19 degrees minimum over the weekend and drop further to 25 and 21 degrees by Monday, with generally cloudy skies and rain and thundershowers over the next couple of days.
